EMS Specific Improvements

  • Bring Alberta EMS wages to parity with the rest of the country

  • Implement a Field Trainer / Mentorship Pay Step

  • Add Pay step / increment for PCPs

    • (PCPS have had an increase in scope with no increase in compensation)

  • 3x OT for Hold over / Late trips

  • Hazard Pay for Dropped Units -

    • Less units to cover the work, increased exposure to potentially traumatic events

  • Align ECO pay equity to Fire/EPS dispatchers

  • Supplemental Pension (Retire sooner)

  • Part Time allowed to bank OT and STAT hours

    • Would allow paramedics to report when staffing issues cause patient harm and could be used to compel AHS to improve staffing
